How the Game Is Played
A match begins with a dice roll to decide turn order, after which each player selects a mythical card that anchors their pantheon for the battle. Players are then dealt a hand of god and spell cards. Each round, you choose a god to play and optionally cast a spell to boost your power, disrupt an opponent, or bend the rules of the round. Gods have signature abilities — some win ties, some steal cards, some resurrect fallen gods from the Afterlife. The highest power total wins the round, but clever ability use can overturn any matchup. The last player standing wins the game.
Play Against the Computer or Online
The Ancient Ones supports both solo play against a computer-controlled opponent and real-time online multiplayer. In single-player mode you face off against AI opponents who use their own pantheon abilities, letting you learn the game and experiment with strategies at your own pace.
